HU3DINKS

3D Bioprinting or biofabrication has emerged as popular technology to fabricate complex and patient specific constructs. However, it is characterised by quite some limitations in term of available materials. Conventional bioinks do not mimic the complexity of the human extracellular matrix (ECM). Therefore, HU3DINKS project aims to develop a platform of next generation ECM-based bioinks based on HUMAN PLACENTA Substrate® and other human placenta-derived materials. To this end, inks suitable for low and high resolution 3D printing technologies are envisaged. Additionally, the incoroporation of silk fibers will allow to improve the mechanical properties. As a consequence, bio-inks for multiphoton lithography and extrusion-based 3D bioprinting will be developed combining the benefits of ECM-based materials with straightforward 3D printing.
