Periodontitis is a chronic inflammatory disease marked by the progressive destruction of the periodontal tissues that support the teeth. If left untreated, it can lead to increased tooth mobility and eventual tooth loss. To effectively treat periodontitis, HEALTHY TEETH project will address all 3 targets: (1) "bad" bacteria, (2) inflamed gingiva and (3) bone loss. This will be done using innovative materials for in situ formin implants as well as developing bioinks for the 3D printing of customized implants.
